Who operates this site
The Positioning Lab operates this website and the tools provided through it. Contact us at enquiries@thepositioninglab.co.uk.
Account eligibility and security
You must be at least 18 to create an account. Give accurate information, keep your sign-in details confidential and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account.
Private-alpha service
The site and its tools are in private alpha. Features may change, be interrupted or be withdrawn while we test and improve them. Access is provided without a promise that every feature will remain available or unchanged.
Career-development information
The Scorecard, Audit, TARGET, POSITION, PROVE, reports and playbooks provide educational career-development guidance. They are not legal, financial, recruitment or employment advice, and they do not make employment decisions. We do not guarantee an interview, offer, promotion, salary or other career outcome.
Your decisions
You remain responsible for checking outputs, deciding what is appropriate, and making your own career and employment decisions. Results are based on the information you provide and may be incomplete if that information is incomplete.
Permitted use
You may use your account, saved work and generated outputs for your own personal career development. Do not misuse the service, interfere with its security, attempt unauthorised access, scrape or resell the tools, or use them to harm another person.
Information you provide
You retain responsibility for information you enter. Do not submit unnecessary confidential information belonging to an employer, client, candidate or other third party. You give us permission to process your submissions only as needed to provide, secure and improve the service as described in our Privacy Policy.
Intellectual property
The Positioning Lab owns or licenses the site, methodology, prompts, design and supporting materials. Your underlying career information remains yours. You may use generated outputs for your own career, but may not reproduce or commercialise the service itself.
Suspension and availability
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate misuse, maintain security, comply with law or operate the alpha safely. We will take reasonable care in operating the service, but uninterrupted or error-free availability is not guaranteed.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, we are not responsible for career decisions, employer decisions, indirect loss or loss caused by relying on an output without applying your own judgement.
Privacy and changes
Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain how information and browser storage are handled. We may update these terms as the alpha changes; the date below identifies the current version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
